| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Doriana Torres has ably served the people of Texas |

| 7 | 7 | | as a Mexican American Legislative Leadership Foundation Fellow and |

| 8 | 8 | | legislative aide in the office of State Representative Mary |

| 9 | 9 | | González during the 84th Legislative Session; and |

| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Established in 2003 by the Mexican American |

| 11 | 11 | | Legislative Caucus, the MALLF Fellowship program provides a unique |

| 12 | 12 | | opportunity for Latino college and university students to garner |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | firsthand experience in the functions and operations of the Texas |

| 14 | 14 | | House of Representatives; participants gain a deeper understanding |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of how state government works and become better equipped to serve |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the communities they represent; and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Jennifer Torres and Bruce Edwards, |

| 18 | 18 | | Doriana Torres is a student at The University of Texas at El Paso, |

| 19 | 19 | | where she is working toward her master's degree in history; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Diligent and resourceful, Ms. Torres has skillfully |

| 21 | 21 | | handled a variety of duties in the office of State Representative |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | González and ably assisted in meeting the needs of constituents, |

| 23 | 23 | | and she may reflect proudly on her service as a legislative aide; |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
