H.R. No. 2400
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, December 28, 2015, marks the 30th wedding
anniversary of Edalio Salinas and Rebecca Romero-Salinas of Corpus
Christi, and this joyous event provides a fitting opportunity to
reflect on their memorable journey together as husband and wife;
and
WHEREAS, Edalio Salinas and the former Rebecca Irene Romero
were united in matrimony at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Corpus
Christi in 1985; they are the proud parents of a daughter, Regina
Alexandria Salinas, with whom they treasure spending many special
occasions; and
WHEREAS, Valued residents of their community, Mr. Salinas
and Mrs. Romero-Salinas both attended Corpus Christi State
University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in music and she
earned bachelor's and master's degrees in curriculum and
instruction; Mr. Salinas taught at neighboring school districts
until becoming a music director in the Corpus Christi Independent
School District, from which he retired after 28 years of service;
prior to her retirement, Mrs. Romero-Salinas had a notable 29-year
career as a secondary math teacher at Driscoll Middle School; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
three decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
in their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Edalio Salinas and Rebecca
Romero-Salinas on their 30th wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
