5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Richard P. Sanchez, former chief of staff for State |

7 | 8 | | University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and it is indeed appropriate |

8 | 9 | | to take this opportunity to commend him for his notable |

9 | 10 | | contributions to the legislative community and the people of Texas; |

11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Sanchez began his distinguished career in |

12 | 13 | | government as a revenue estimator for the Texas comptroller's |

13 | 14 | | office; he then served as a policy specialist for the Senate |

14 | 15 | | Research Center and chief of staff for State Representative Ismael |
---|
15 | 16 | | "Kino" Flores, and he was chief of staff for Representative Muñoz |
---|
16 | 17 | | from January 2011 to December 2014; moreover, he has served in the |
---|
17 | 18 | | Texas State Guard since 2000; and |

18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, This highly respected Capitol staffer is a founding |
---|
19 | 20 | | member of the board of Tejano Monument Incorporated, the nonprofit |
---|
20 | 21 | | that organized recognition of our state's Tejano heritage through |
---|
21 | 22 | | the placement of the splendid monument on the Capitol grounds, and |
---|
22 | 23 | | he has served as secretary-treasurer of the group; and |
---|
23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, A former president of the Hidalgo/Starr Texas Exes |

24 | 25 | | Association, he holds a bachelor's degree in economics from The |
---|
25 | 26 | | University of Texas at Austin and has completed the certified |
---|
26 | 27 | | public manager program in public administration; and |
---|
27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Richard Sanchez has greatly benefited his fellow |

28 | 29 | | citizens through his commendable dedication to public service, and |

29 | 30 | | as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life, he may |

30 | 31 | | reflect with pride on his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |

31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
