| 8 | 9 | | Build Healthier Communities" initiative; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, This generous contribution will support the |

| 10 | 11 | | creation of the Colonia Integrated Care Program: VIDAS (Valley |

| 11 | 12 | | Inter-professional Development and Services), a project to improve |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | health care access in unincorporated border communities; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Through mobile clinics and telecommunication |

| 14 | 15 | | technologies, the program will promote wellness education, offer |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | screenings, and provide dental and mental health services; it will |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | also aim to formalize training for and increase the number of |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | skilled promotoras, health workers who connect the health care |

| 18 | 19 | | system with colonia residents through shared language and culture; |
