5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Jonathan Covey has ably served his fellow Texans as |

6 | 7 | | chief of staff in the office of State Representative James White |

7 | 8 | | during the 84th Legislature; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since becoming a legislative employee, Mr. Covey |

9 | 10 | | has contributed to the workings of state government firsthand; |

10 | 11 | | undertaking a wide variety of challenging tasks, he has provided |
---|
11 | 12 | | vital leadership and helped ensure the efficient operation of the |
---|
12 | 13 | | representative's office; and |
---|
13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Covey joined the staff of Representative White |
---|
14 | 15 | | in September 2014; previously, he was a constituent services |
---|
15 | 16 | | representative in the district casework office of a member of the |
---|
16 | 17 | | United States House of Representatives; a graduate of Thomas Edison |
---|
17 | 18 | | State College in New Jersey, he is a fourth-year student at Oak |
---|
18 | 19 | | Brook College of Law, where he has served as a teacher's assistant; |

19 | 20 | | he has also completed a clerkship in the Orange County District |
---|
20 | 21 | | Attorney's Office; and |
---|
21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed his |

22 | 23 | | duties as chief of staff with skill and dedication, and he is indeed |

23 | 24 | | deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, |

25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby commend Jonathan Covey for his service as chief |

27 | 28 | | of staff in the office of State Representative James White and |
