 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas
 is pleased to recognize Lillie Mae Wieding for her many
 contributions to the Three Rivers community and her exceptional
 service as president of First State Bank; and
 WHEREAS, Lillie Mae Wieding was valedictorian of her
 graduating class at Three Rivers High School; she began her career
 at First State Bank as a bookkeeper in 1951, when bank records were
 kept in hand-written ledger books and the terms of a home loan fit
 on a single page; and
 WHEREAS, Through the years, she learned the details of the
 banking business by working in a wide variety of positions; she
 served as a cashier, teller, loan officer, and vice president; she
 was elected to the board of directors and named bank president in
 1990; and
 WHEREAS, Under her outstanding leadership, the bank
 continued to grow and prosper and to play an important role in the
 life of the community; she established the annual tradition of the
 bank's free holiday dinner, and she helped many people to maintain
 their businesses; in addition, she has served on numerous community
 boards, has been a member of many organizations and clubs, and is a
 lifetime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church; and
 WHEREAS, An exemplary lady, she is beloved and respected by
 area citizens, and it is truly fitting that she receive special
 recognition for her generous spirit and her many achievements; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby recognize Lillie Mae Wieding for her exceptional
 contributions to the people of Three Rivers as a community leader
 and as president of First State Bank and extend to her best wishes
 for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
 of Representatives.
