| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas |

| 6 | 7 | | is pleased to recognize Lillie Mae Wieding for her many |

| 7 | 8 | | contributions to the Three Rivers community and her exceptional |

| 8 | 9 | | service as president of First State Bank; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Lillie Mae Wieding was valedictorian of her |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | graduating class at Three Rivers High School; she began her career |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | at First State Bank as a bookkeeper in 1951, when bank records were |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | kept in hand-written ledger books and the terms of a home loan fit |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | on a single page; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, she learned the details of the |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | banking business by working in a wide variety of positions; she |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | served as a cashier, teller, loan officer, and vice president; she |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | was elected to the board of directors and named bank president in |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | 1990; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Under her outstanding leadership, the bank |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | continued to grow and prosper and to play an important role in the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | life of the community; she established the annual tradition of the |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | bank's free holiday dinner, and she helped many people to maintain |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | their businesses; in addition, she has served on numerous community |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | boards, has been a member of many organizations and clubs, and is a |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | lifetime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary lady, she is beloved and respected by |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | area citizens, and it is truly fitting that she receive special |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | recognition for her generous spirit and her many achievements; now, |

| 29 | 30 | | therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby recognize Lillie Mae Wieding for her exceptional |
