| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Edwin Aziz Hurtado of Brownsville has ably served |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Hurtado has provided |

| 9 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |

| 10 | 11 | | in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the |

| 11 | 12 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, he has gained |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The son of Francisco Hurtado and Leticia Zuñiga, |

| 14 | 15 | | Mr. Hurtado is pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in government |

| 15 | 16 | | with a minor in business administration at The University of Texas |

| 16 | 17 | | at Austin; currently in his junior year, he is an active member of |

| 17 | 18 | | the Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, and he serves as the Latino |

| 18 | 19 | | Leadership Summit chair for the student organization Latino |

| 19 | 20 | | Community Affairs; he has been named a Congressional Hispanic |

| 20 | 21 | | Caucus Institute Scholar, a Texas Governor's Fellow, and a Summer |

| 21 | 22 | | Teaching Fellow at Breakthrough Austin; he plans to one day become |

| 22 | 23 | | an attorney and pursue a political career; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed his |

| 24 | 25 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is |

| 25 | 26 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, |
