| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1989, the FIRST robotics |

| 10 | 11 | | competitions encourage young people's interest in science and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | technology by challenging school teams to build and program a robot |

| 12 | 13 | | to carry out a specific task; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, From February 25 through 28, the Titan robotics team |

| 14 | 15 | | took part in the regional contest in Dallas, where it earned the |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Rookie All Star Award and was named Highest Rookie Seed; moreover, |

| 16 | 17 | | with their strong showing at the regional event, the Plano students |

| 17 | 18 | | qualified for the FIRST World Championship, and they proudly |

| 18 | 19 | | represented their school alongside other top competitors from April |

| 19 | 20 | | 22 to 25; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Through their participation in this exciting and |

| 21 | 22 | | demanding program, the members of the Titan robotics team have |

| 22 | 23 | | enhanced their knowledge and skills while learning important |

| 23 | 24 | | lessons about cooperation and self-confidence, and they may indeed |

| 24 | 25 | | take pride in a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Titan robotics team from Plano |

| 27 | 28 | | ISD Academy High School on qualifying for and competing in the 2015 |
