45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The talented members of the Titan robotics team of
67 Plano ISD Academy High School distinguished themselves during 2015,
78 advancing all the way to the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis,
89 Missouri; and
910 WHEREAS, Established in 1989, the FIRST robotics
1011 competitions encourage young people's interest in science and
1112 technology by challenging school teams to build and program a robot
1213 to carry out a specific task; and
1314 WHEREAS, From February 25 through 28, the Titan robotics team
1415 took part in the regional contest in Dallas, where it earned the
1516 Rookie All Star Award and was named Highest Rookie Seed; moreover,
1617 with their strong showing at the regional event, the Plano students
1718 qualified for the FIRST World Championship, and they proudly
1819 represented their school alongside other top competitors from April
1920 22 to 25; and
2021 WHEREAS, Through their participation in this exciting and
2122 demanding program, the members of the Titan robotics team have
2223 enhanced their knowledge and skills while learning important
2324 lessons about cooperation and self-confidence, and they may indeed
2425 take pride in a job well done; now, therefore, be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2627 Legislature hereby congratulate the Titan robotics team from Plano
2728 ISD Academy High School on qualifying for and competing in the 2015
2829 FIRST World Championship and extend to all those involved with the
2930 team sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3233 House of Representatives.
