R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Heart of the Rock Civitan Club is hosting its
annual Special Education Teacher Appreciation observance in Round
Rock on May 14, 2015, and this occasion provides an ideal
opportunity to recognize this noteworthy group; and
WHEREAS, For nearly a century, Civitan International has
promoted good citizenship as an organization of service clubs
dedicated to helping people in their own communities; the group
developed a particular focus on benefiting people with
disabilities, and many clubs have been involved in meeting the
needs of special education students; and
WHEREAS, Civitan International today has more than 40,000
members in over 30 countries; the Heart of the Rock Civitan Club was
chartered in 2009, and it is affiliated with the Heartland Civitan
District, which encompasses almost 50 active chapters in Texas,
Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma; and
WHEREAS, Through their endeavors in behalf of special
education and many other initiatives, the members of the Heart of
the Rock Civitan Club are making a positive difference in the Round
Rock community and setting an example of civic engagement to which
others may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize May 14, 2015, as Civitan Special
Education Teacher Appreciation Day and extend to all those
participating in this event sincere best wishes for a memorable
celebration; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
