| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Heart of the Rock Civitan Club is hosting its |

| 6 | 7 | | annual Special Education Teacher Appreciation observance in Round |

| 7 | 8 | | Rock on May 14, 2015, and this occasion provides an ideal |

| 8 | 9 | | opportunity to recognize this noteworthy group; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, For nearly a century, Civitan International has |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | promoted good citizenship as an organization of service clubs |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | dedicated to helping people in their own communities; the group |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | developed a particular focus on benefiting people with |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | disabilities, and many clubs have been involved in meeting the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | needs of special education students; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Civitan International today has more than 40,000 |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | members in over 30 countries; the Heart of the Rock Civitan Club was |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | chartered in 2009, and it is affiliated with the Heartland Civitan |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | District, which encompasses almost 50 active chapters in Texas, |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Through their endeavors in behalf of special |

| 21 | 22 | | education and many other initiatives, the members of the Heart of |

| 22 | 23 | | the Rock Civitan Club are making a positive difference in the Round |

| 23 | 24 | | Rock community and setting an example of civic engagement to which |

| 24 | 25 | | others may aspire; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby recognize May 14, 2015, as Civitan Special |

| 27 | 28 | | Education Teacher Appreciation Day and extend to all those |

| 28 | 29 | | participating in this event sincere best wishes for a memorable |
