H.R. No. 2482
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Makenzie Wright has been honored with a 2015
scholarship from the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show
Association; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the association recognizes young people
who have distinguished themselves through their participation in
the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show, which takes place in
January; funded by proceeds raised at the event, the 2015
scholarship awards were presented to 15 area high school seniors
based on a range of criteria, including academic achievement,
college readiness, and membership in an FFA or a 4-H or Family,
Career and Community Leaders of America program; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Bluntzer 4-H Club, Makenzie Wright
is graduating from Banquete High School and is looking forward to
pursuing a degree in agribusiness/communication at Texas A&M
University; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has brought great pride
to her family and community, and the exceptional talent, aptitude,
and drive that she has demonstrated are certain to serve her well in
all her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Makenzie Wright on her receipt of a
2015 scholarship from the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show
Association and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Wright as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
