 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Kristi West of Hardin-Jefferson High School in Sour
 Lake has deservedly been named the 2015 Adviser of the Year for
 Region 8 by the National Association of Student Councils; and
 WHEREAS, The National Association of Student Councils
 provides middle level and high school student councils and their
 advisers with the knowledge, skills, and resources that students
 need to become active, engaged leaders in their schools and
 communities; the organization annually chooses an outstanding high
 school sponsor from each of the eight regions to compete at the NASC
 National Conference for the Warren E. Shull Adviser of the Year
 Award; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. West is a math teacher at Hardin-Jefferson, and
 over the course of her career, she has exemplified the highest
 ideals of her profession, fostering a positive educational
 environment for students while working to equip them with a sound
 academic foundation on which to build; in 2010 she was honored with
 the Eddie G. Bull State Advisor of the Year Award by the Texas
 Association of Student Councils; and
 WHEREAS, This exemplary educator has worked to instill in her
 students a lifelong love of learning and leadership, and her
 contributions have made a positive difference in the lives of
 numerous young Texans; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Kristi West on her selection as the
 2015 Adviser of the Year for Region 8 by the National Association of
 Student Councils and extend to her sincere best wishes for
 continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. West as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
