| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Brian Nyquist, policy analyst for the House |

| 6 | 7 | | Committee on Public Health, has been inducted into the Alpha Tau |

| 7 | 8 | | chapter of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Graduating summa cum laude with a master's degree in |

| 9 | 10 | | public health from the Texas A&M University Health Science Center |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | School of Public Health, Mr. Nyquist earned the distinction of |

| 11 | 12 | | being the only member of his class inducted into this prestigious |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | national society, which is limited to the top 10 percent of public |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | health students; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Nyquist also holds a bachelor's degree in human |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | biology from The University of Texas at Austin; while studying at |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | UT, he gained invaluable experience as a research assistant and an |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | undergraduate teaching assistant; he subsequently worked in |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | research compliance for the Texas A&M University System and also |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | processed research proposals and conducted studies on biohazardous |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | materials for the TAMU Institutional Biosafety Committee for |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | several years; he was later promoted to the Human Subjects |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Protection Program, for which he served as liaison for more than |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | 1,800 active human subject research protocols; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, In his work as a policy analyst for the House |

| 25 | 26 | | Committee on Public Health of the 84th Texas Legislature, |

| 26 | 27 | | Mr. Nyquist brings his extensive knowledge in many areas of the |

| 27 | 28 | | health field to advise about and help craft public health |
|---|

| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, The dedicated work of Brian Nyquist greatly |
