| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Fire Marshal Wanda Martin is retiring from the |

| 6 | 7 | | League City Fire Department in 2015, drawing to a close a notable |

| 7 | 8 | | tenure in public service that has spanned three and a half decades; |

|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Martin began her career as an administrative |

| 10 | 11 | | assistant at a local community college before joining the League |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | City Fire Department, where she rose through the ranks to become |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | fire marshal; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, In that important position, Fire Marshal Martin has |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | distinguished herself in such vital endeavors as fire |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | investigation, education of the public about fire safety, and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | enforcement of the fire code; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Wanda Martin's professionalism and devotion to |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | public safety have greatly benefited her fellow citizens, and she |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as she embarks |

| 20 | 21 | | on the next exciting chapter in her life; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 22 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Wanda Martin on her retirement from |

| 23 | 24 | | the League City Fire Department and extend to her sincere best |
