No. 2535 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Nicole Elizabeth Rowden of Boy Scouts of America Venturing Crew No. 442 in Friendswood has earned the Venturing Silver Award, and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, Venturing is a youth development program designed by the Boy Scouts of America to provide young men and women with positive experiences through a variety of activities as they pursue their special interests, develop leadership skills, and become good citizens; and WHEREAS, The Venturing Silver Award is the highest level a venturer can achieve in scouting; in the course of meeting the award's demanding criteria, Ms. Rowden earned the requisite Venturing Bronze and Gold Awards, and she participated in the Ethics in Action program; moreover, she successfully demonstrated emergency preparedness and leadership abilities, winning the respect and admiration of the fellow members of her crew; and WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has also engaged in a number of community service projects, such as helping a special needs family and volunteering at scouting events, including the National Jamboree and Native American Weekend at Camp Karankawa; she is an active member of Friendswood United Methodist Church; and WHEREAS, Venture Scout Rowden has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the goals of the Venturing program, and the knowledge and confidence she has acquired will indeed serve her well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Nicole Elizabeth Rowden on earning the Venturing Silver Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Rowden as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
