| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Nicole Elizabeth Rowden of Boy Scouts of America |

| 6 | 7 | | Venturing Crew No. 442 in Friendswood has earned the Venturing |

| 7 | 8 | | Silver Award, and this accomplishment truly merits special |

|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Venturing is a youth development program designed by |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | the Boy Scouts of America to provide young men and women with |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | positive experiences through a variety of activities as they pursue |

| 12 | 13 | | their special interests, develop leadership skills, and become good |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | citizens; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The Venturing Silver Award is the highest level a |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | venturer can achieve in scouting; in the course of meeting the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | award's demanding criteria, Ms. Rowden earned the requisite |

| 17 | 18 | | Venturing Bronze and Gold Awards, and she participated in the |

| 18 | 19 | | Ethics in Action program; moreover, she successfully demonstrated |

| 19 | 20 | | emergency preparedness and leadership abilities, winning the |

| 20 | 21 | | respect and admiration of the fellow members of her crew; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has also engaged in a number of |

| 22 | 23 | | community service projects, such as helping a special needs family |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | and volunteering at scouting events, including the National |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Jamboree and Native American Weekend at Camp Karankawa; she is an |

| 25 | 26 | | active member of Friendswood United Methodist Church; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Venture Scout Rowden has demonstrated an unwavering |

| 27 | 28 | | commitment to the goals of the Venturing program, and the knowledge |

| 28 | 29 | | and confidence she has acquired will indeed serve her well in the |

| 29 | 30 | | years to come; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
