| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Game wardens Morgan Inman, Justin Eddins, and Roy |

| 7 | 8 | | from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for their actions |

| 8 | 9 | | during an incident on Lake Sam Rayburn; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, At noon on June 28, 2014, a man and his 13-year-old |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | son were swimming in the lake at Ebenezer Park when the boy sank |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | beneath the water and failed to resurface; when the father tried to |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | save his son, he was overcome by the water as well and ended up |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | clinging to a buoy; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Responding to the emergency were three local game |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | wardens, Morgan Inman and Justin Eddins of Jasper County and Roy |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Eddins of Tyler County, as well as the Jasper County Emergency |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Corps; two of the wardens were already on the lake in their boats |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | and arrived within five minutes, while the third warden arrived |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | soon thereafter; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Working together, the three wardens pulled the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | father from the water, and then they searched for and found his son; |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | although the young man later died in the hospital, his organs were |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | made available for transplant, and at least one individual received |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | a transplanted organ from the boy; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Thanks to the swift and skillful action taken by |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | these dedicated professionals, an even greater tragedy was averted, |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | and Morgan Inman and Justin and Roy Eddins indeed merit special |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | recognition for their efforts; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby congratulate game wardens Morgan Inman, Justin |

| 31 | 32 | | Eddins, and Roy Eddins on their receipt of the Director's Life |
