 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Houston Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction is
 celebrating its 50th anniversary at the group's Founders Day
 Luncheon on May 17, 2015, and this occasion offers a welcome
 opportunity to honor this exemplary civic organization; and
 WHEREAS, For a half-century, the members of the Houston
 Chapter have devoted themselves to serving the community; through
 their dedicated support of local and national initiatives, they
 strive diligently to fulfill the TLOD mission of enhancing the
 quality of life for youth and adults; and
 WHEREAS, The chapter's Top Teens of America program offers
 young people opportunities for educational, moral, and cultural
 enrichment, and its Status of Women project helps individuals to
 manage their time and resources; in addition, the group places a
 special emphasis on assisting senior citizens, enabling them to
 continue leading engaged and fulfilling lives; and
 WHEREAS, By carrying out a range of beautification efforts,
 TLOD members help to heighten awareness of environmental concerns
 and to improve area neighborhoods for the enjoyment of all; the
 chapter also forms partnerships with other groups, businesses, and
 governmental entities to make a positive difference in the city and
 beyond; and
 WHEREAS, The Houston Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction has
 performed countless good works over the course of five decades, and
 its members have earned the lasting gratitude and admiration of
 their fellow residents; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Houston
 Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction and extend to the
 organization's membership sincere best wishes for continued
 success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the chapter as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
