 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Former La Joya Independent School District board
 member Arturo Gonzalez Jr. passed away on April 26, 2009, at the age
 of 56, but his legacy continues through the scholarship fund
 established in his name; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Arturo Gonzalez Sr. and Baudilia
 Gonzalez, "Morgan" Gonzalez was born on September 29, 1952; he
 graduated from the La Joya Independent School District and remained
 a proud Coyote fan, loyally wearing the red and white school colors;
 and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzalez was joined in matrimony to Rebecca
 Gonzalez, and they became the proud parents of four children,
 Anita, Arturo, Angie, and Andie; after beginning his family, he
 completed his education at South Texas Community College, majoring
 in business management while working full-time; he was employed for
 33 years by Valley Coca-Cola, where he rose to become a supervisor
 and made many lasting friendships; and
 WHEREAS, Fulfilling a longtime goal, Mr. Gonzalez won
 election to the board of La Joya ISD in 2001, and he served with
 great dedication; he was involved in numerous district events and
 strove to inspire youngsters to achieve academic goals; in his free
 time, he enjoyed many hobbies, including hunting, playing golf,
 solving Sudoku puzzles, baking, crocheting, sewing, and making
 wonderful presents for his beloved grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, A quiet man with a big heart and ready smile, Morgan
 Gonzalez was devoted to his family and his community, and he is
 remembered with deep affection and admiration by all who were
 privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Arturo "Morgan"
 Gonzalez Jr. and extend sincere condolences to his loved ones; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Arturo
 Gonzalez Jr.
