| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Jay Monroe Johnson of Tarleton State University has |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Actively involved in campus activities, Mr. Johnson |

| 9 | 10 | | has served in the Student Government Association for five years; he |

| 10 | 11 | | was elected president by his peers in April 2014 and has ably guided |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | the organization throughout his term; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson has further distinguished himself as |

| 13 | 14 | | president of the Tarleton Alternative Transportation executive |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | board, as vice president of academic affairs, and as chief justice |

| 15 | 16 | | of the SGA; in addition, he served as a senator of the College of |

| 16 | 17 | | Liberal and Fine Arts, as a house representative of the School Wide |

| 17 | 18 | | Activities Team, and as a member of the Freshman Representative |

| 18 | 19 | | Council and the Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity; in recognition of his |

| 19 | 20 | | contributions to the university, he received the 2014 John Tarleton |

| 20 | 21 | | Spirit Award and the 2015 Wanda Mercer Tarleton Legend Award; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Vic and LaQuita Johnson, |

| 22 | 23 | | Jay Johnson graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science |

| 23 | 24 | | from TSU in 2014, and he is currently pursuing a master's degree in |

| 24 | 25 | | management and leadership; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Jay Johnson has set an inspiring example of service |

| 26 | 27 | | at Tarleton State University, and he may indeed reflect with |

| 27 | 28 | | satisfaction on his accomplishments in student government; now, |
