45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The members of the Kirbyville High School Theatre
67 Productions Company won first place at the University
78 Interscholastic League district competition on March 28, 2015; and
89 WHEREAS, Performing the play Flowers for Algernon, the
910 company bested teams from seven area high schools to claim the
1011 district title; several students were recognized with individual
1112 honors, including Holden Cox as Best Actor, Lauren Dameron as an
1213 All-Star Cast member, and Misti Horn as an All-Star Crew member; and
1314 WHEREAS, Also contributing to the group's success were Haley
1415 Jacobs, Emily Bean, Ashley Landrum, Amanda Broussard, Katie
1516 Russell, Ethan Cole, Ethan Boyd, Dennis Leh, Gwendolyne Bronson,
1617 Ben Cunningham, Grace Bagwell, and Matthew Calloway; moreover, the
1718 company received essential guidance from directors Sandy Boyd and
1819 Skylar Rowley; and
1920 WHEREAS, With their fine showing in district competition, the
2021 members of the Kirbyville High School Theatre Productions Company
2122 have brought great credit to their school, and they may take
2223 justifiable pride in this noteworthy achievement; now, therefore,
2324 be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby congratulate the Kirbyville High School Theatre
2627 Productions Company on winning the UIL district competition and
2728 that its members be extended sincere best wishes for the future;
2829 and, be it further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
3132 Texas House of Representatives.
