45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Members of the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce are
67 visiting Austin on May 21, 2015, to celebrate Texas-Israel Day at
78 the State Capitol; and
89 WHEREAS, The people of Texas and the people of Israel have
910 many common values and interests, and the growing business between
1011 the two plays an important role in their respective economies; and
1112 WHEREAS, Major areas of interest that Texas and Israel share
1213 are energy, water, and health; examples of the beneficial
1314 relationship between the two include the discovery of natural gas
1415 in Israel by Noble Energy and the Lone Star State's use of
1516 groundbreaking Israeli water technology to help it solve its
1617 ongoing water problems; and
1718 WHEREAS, In light of the joint economic and developmental
1819 activities in which Texas and Israel are participating, it is truly
1920 fitting that a day be set aside to celebrate their longstanding
2021 friendship and to foster an even closer relationship; now,
2122 therefore, be it
2223 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2324 Legislature hereby recognize May 21, 2015, as Texas-Israel Day at
2425 the State Capitol and extend to the members of the Texas-Israel
2526 Chamber of Commerce sincere best wishes for a productive visit to
2627 Austin.
