No. 2652 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Members of the choir from University High School in Waco have qualified to participate in the University Interscholastic League Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest in May 2015; and WHEREAS, To advance to this prestigious competition, students must earn a "superior" rating at the regional level for performing a Class I solo or a Class I piece with a small ensemble; and WHEREAS, Under the guidance of choir director Pamela Bridges, the University High students who earned first division ratings to qualify for state are Chyenne McGehee, Kiara Scott, Diana Hinojoza, and Elizabeth Rodriguez; and WHEREAS, This notable feat is the culmination of countless hours of practice and an unwavering dedication to excellence, and these fine young Texans may indeed take justifiable pride in their accomplishments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the University High School choir on advancing to the UIL 2015 Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
