H.R. No. 2661
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gene Taylor of McGregor distinguished himself at the
Texas State Senior Games held in San Antonio in April 2015, winning
his division and setting a national record for his age group; and
WHEREAS, Competing against other talented senior athletes
from around the Lone Star State in the 400-meter dash, Mr. Taylor
crossed the finish line in 1:15.49 to capture first place in the
65-69 age division; moreover, his superb performance set a new
National Senior Games record for the 400 meters; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Taylor has actively participated in Texas
Senior Games competitions for nearly two decades, and he enjoyed
further success in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash events at this
year's event; and
WHEREAS, This respected gentleman's athletic achievements
are a great source of pride and inspiration for his friends and
family, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for his
significant success; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Gene Taylor on his performance at
the Texas State Senior Games and extend to him sincere best wishes
for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Taylor as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
