45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Andrew Harmon, a sophomore at Colmesneil High
67 School, was chosen to represent the Jasper-Newton Electric
78 Cooperative at the 2015 Government in Action Youth Tour in
89 Washington, D.C.; and
910 WHEREAS, Each year, the Jasper-Newton Electric Cooperative
1011 sponsors two area high school students to attend the Government in
1112 Action Youth Tour in our nation's capital; this prestigious honor
1213 is determined by a committee of JNEC members, and winners are
1314 recognized for their academic achievements as well as other
1415 merit-based factors; and
1516 WHEREAS, The son of Gina Harmon-Gray, Mr. Harmon will be
1617 afforded the opportunity to enhance his knowledge of electric
1718 cooperatives and rural electrification issues over the course of
1819 the nine-day tour; moreover, this bright young Texan will also meet
1920 with lawmakers to get a better understanding of the workings of the
2021 federal government and visit the multitude of historical sites and
2122 museums that D.C. has to offer; and
2223 WHEREAS, Andrew Harmon has distinguished himself through his
2324 hard work and dedication both in and out of the classroom, and he
2425 may indeed take great pride in his achievements; now, therefore, be
2526 it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby congratulate Andrew Harmon on his selection as a
2829 2015 Government in Action Youth Tour representative for the
2930 Jasper-Newton Electric Cooperative and extend to him sincere best
3031 wishes for the future; and, be it further
3132 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3233 prepared for Mr. Harmon as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3334 House of Representatives.
