| 11 | 12 | | Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services; and |

| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Competing in a variety of tasks, approximately 70 |

| 13 | 14 | | students from across the state gained valuable experience using |

| 14 | 15 | | assistive technology, including electronic magnifiers, Braille |

| 15 | 16 | | note-taking devices, monocular telescopes, and laptops with |

| 16 | 17 | | special programs; the event also included a creative writing and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | art component to encourage self-expression; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, With their participation in this event, these |

| 19 | 20 | | outstanding young Texans learned new ways to overcome obstacles and |

| 20 | 21 | | acquired valuable skills, and they may take justifiable pride in |

| 21 | 22 | | the dedication and perseverance they have demonstrated; now, |
