44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, The Leadership Cedar Park program of the Cedar Park
66 Chamber of Commerce is hosting its graduation ceremony on May 13,
77 2015; and
88 WHEREAS, An annual nine-month program, Leadership Cedar Park
99 was established to identify and educate leaders and potential
1010 leaders in the community; its day-long sessions provide in-depth
1111 information about such topics as health care, social services,
1212 education, economic development, and quality of life; moreover,
1313 class members study the workings of government at the local,
1414 county, and state levels; and
1515 WHEREAS, Participants receive both classroom instruction and
1616 hands-on leadership skills training; in addition to touring local
1717 businesses, they attend an overnight retreat and visit the State
1818 Capitol to learn more about the legislative process; and
1919 WHEREAS, Leadership Cedar Park increases civic engagement
2020 while helping public-spirited residents to develop the qualities
2121 and abilities required to make a positive impact in their city; now,
2222 therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2424 Legislature hereby recognize May 13, 2015, as Leadership Cedar Park
2525 Day and extend to all those associated with this noteworthy
2626 initiative sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2828 prepared for the program as an expression of high regard by the
2929 Texas House of Representatives.
