R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated companies play an
essential role in the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and those
enterprises that build a record of quality and longevity are indeed
deserving of recognition; and
WHEREAS, In April 1973, Robstown native Ramon Alejandro
opened Ray's Footwear, and though he continued to work in a refinery
for a time, he took over management duties at the shop in 1976; over
the years, he has had help from his children and nieces and nephews,
but he now is moving toward retirement and runs the business
himself; and
WHEREAS, Known for attentive personal service, Ray's
Footwear has won the loyalty of many area residents while
contributing to the prosperity of the region; after 42 years, the
business has attained the status of a treasured community
institution, and Mr. Alejandro indeed merits special recognition
for his success; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ramon Alejandro on more than four
decades as the owner of Ray's Footwear in Robstown and extend to him
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Alejandro as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
