H.R. No. 2698
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Bailey Goins of Chester High School garnered
well-deserved recognition for his performance at the 2015
University Interscholastic League 1A Golf State Tournament, held
April 29-30 in Austin; and
WHEREAS, Competing against other top Texas high school
golfers at Lions Municipal Golf Course, Mr. Goins posted
consecutive solid rounds to finish in a tie for 14th place with a
two-day total of 177 strokes; moreover, he secured his trip to state
with an impressive showing at the Region 4-1A tournament in Manor,
where he claimed fourth place and medalist honors; and
WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering commitment to
excellence, this talented student-athlete has earned a place among
the Lone Star State's top 1A golfers, and he may indeed take
justifiable pride in his outstanding accomplishment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Bailey Goins on qualifying for the
2015 UIL 1A Golf State Tournament and extend to him sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Goins as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
