| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Elliott Raia has ably served his fellow Texans as an |

| 6 | 7 | | intern in the office of State Representative Cecil Bell Jr. during |

| 7 | 8 | | the 84th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Raia has provided vital |

| 9 | 10 | | assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | addition to learning more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, he has gained |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | valuable experience in the field of public service; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A government and economics major at The University |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | of Texas at Austin, Mr. Raia has been involved in a number of |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | notable academic and civic projects; he is a graduate of the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Leadership Education and Progress program at UT-Austin, and as an |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow, he has |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | volunteered more than 1,600 hours to community service; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed his |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, |

| 22 | 23 | | therefore, be it |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby commend Elliott Raia for his service as a |

| 25 | 26 | | legislative intern in the office of State Representative Cecil Bell |

| 26 | 27 | | Jr. and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in |
