45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Richard Gil Tubb has greatly benefited his fellow
67 Tyler County residents through his civic leadership; and
78 WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Mr. Tubb has served as
89 president of the Tyler County Industrial Corporation, and he was
910 previously secretary of the organization for 17 years; he has been
1011 highly involved in its efforts to attract companies and industry,
1112 and during his tenure, German Pellets chose Woodville as the site of
1213 its first United States plant; moreover, he worked closely with
1314 both the Industrial Corporation and the Chamber of Commerce to
1415 bring the Gib Lewis Prison Unit to the area; and
1516 WHEREAS, Mr. Tubb also serves on the board of the Tyler
1617 County Hospital Foundation, and he has served for more than 20 years
1718 as president of the Tyler County Appraisal District; and
1819 WHEREAS, Although Mr. Tubb was born in Dayton, Ohio, and grew
1920 up on the East Coast, his family has lived in Woodville for more
2021 than a century; he moved to the city in 1967 and became involved in
2122 the family business and in the community; and
2223 WHEREAS, Gil Tubb has contributed significantly to the
2324 prosperity of Tyler County through his dedicated endeavors, and he
2425 may take justifiable pride in his accomplishments; now, therefore,
2526 be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby honor Gil Tubb for his service to Tyler County
2829 and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
2930 it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Mr. Tubb as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3233 House of Representatives.
