5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Richard Gil Tubb has greatly benefited his fellow |

6 | 7 | | Tyler County residents through his civic leadership; and |

7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Mr. Tubb has served as |
---|
8 | 9 | | president of the Tyler County Industrial Corporation, and he was |
---|
9 | 10 | | previously secretary of the organization for 17 years; he has been |
---|
10 | 11 | | highly involved in its efforts to attract companies and industry, |
---|
11 | 12 | | and during his tenure, German Pellets chose Woodville as the site of |
---|
12 | 13 | | its first United States plant; moreover, he worked closely with |
---|
13 | 14 | | both the Industrial Corporation and the Chamber of Commerce to |
---|
14 | 15 | | bring the Gib Lewis Prison Unit to the area; and |
---|
15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Tubb also serves on the board of the Tyler |
---|
16 | 17 | | County Hospital Foundation, and he has served for more than 20 years |
---|
17 | 18 | | as president of the Tyler County Appraisal District; and |
---|
18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Although Mr. Tubb was born in Dayton, Ohio, and grew |
---|
19 | 20 | | up on the East Coast, his family has lived in Woodville for more |
---|
20 | 21 | | than a century; he moved to the city in 1967 and became involved in |
---|
21 | 22 | | the family business and in the community; and |
---|
22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Gil Tubb has contributed significantly to the |
---|
23 | 24 | | prosperity of Tyler County through his dedicated endeavors, and he |
---|
24 | 25 | | may take justifiable pride in his accomplishments; now, therefore, |
---|
25 | 26 | | be it |

26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
---|
27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby honor Gil Tubb for his service to Tyler County |
---|
28 | 29 | | and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be |
