| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Nguyen has provided |

| 10 | 11 | | including reading bills and addressing the needs of constituents; |

| 11 | 12 | | in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the |

| 12 | 13 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained |

| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Anh Tran and Khoi |

| 15 | 16 | | Nguyen, Ms. Nguyen is a freshman at The University of Texas at |

| 16 | 17 | | Austin; she is an active member of the Central Texas Model United |

| 17 | 18 | | Nations and the University Leadership Network, and she has been |

| 18 | 19 | | named a Posse Foundation Scholar, a Michael and Susan Dell |

| 19 | 20 | | Foundation Scholar, a Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholar, and a |

| 20 | 21 | | Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholar; in addition, she has |

| 21 | 22 | | interned for the Houston City Council and will soon intern for the |

| 22 | 23 | | U.S. Department of State, where she plans to one day be employed as |

| 23 | 24 | | a foreign service officer; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |

| 25 | 26 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |

| 26 | 27 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
