| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Rebecca Walker of Austin has ably served her fellow |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Walker has provided |

| 9 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |

| 10 | 11 | | in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the |

| 11 | 12 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained |

| 12 | 13 | | valuable experience in the field of public service; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Susan Walker and Dr. Randolph |

| 14 | 15 | | Walker, Ms. Walker is a junior at The University of Texas at Austin, |

| 15 | 16 | | where she is pursuing a double major in biology and linguistics and |

| 16 | 17 | | a minor in Italian; she is president of She Says, a feminist |

| 17 | 18 | | organization, as well as a student DJ for KVRX Austin, and she |

| 18 | 19 | | previously served as a research assistant to both Dr. Patience L. |

| 19 | 20 | | Epps and Dr. Molly E. Cummings; after graduation, she plans to |

| 20 | 21 | | study international law; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |

| 22 | 23 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |

| 23 | 24 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
