| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Jerry VanNatta has been named Firefighter of the |

| 6 | 7 | | Year by the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department, and this |

| 7 | 8 | | achievement indeed merits special recognition; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Mineral Wells and a veteran of the |

| 9 | 10 | | Vietnam War, Mr. VanNatta joined the Mineral Wells VFD in April |

| 10 | 11 | | 1973, and over the past four decades, he has served the department |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | with great distinction; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, From 1985 to 1995, Mr. VanNatta was the volunteer |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | fire chief, and from 1989 to 1995, he was the first city fire chief; |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | he currently serves as the department's second assistant chief; in |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | all endeavors, he enjoys the love and respect of his wife of 19 |

| 16 | 17 | | years, Ronda; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, For more than 40 years, Jerry VanNatta has been a |

| 18 | 19 | | leader in his department and an inspiration to his fellow |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | firefighters, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his receipt of |

| 20 | 21 | | this special recognition from his peers; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 22 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry VanNatta for being named |

| 23 | 24 | | Firefighter of the Year by the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire |
