| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Chuck and Michelle Wright of Frisco played an |

| 8 | 9 | | of special commendation for their successful efforts; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Burton E. Burfeind was born |

| 10 | 11 | | in Decatur on September 28, 1922, and he served with the 115th |

| 11 | 12 | | Regiment of the 29th Infantry Division; he took part in the D-Day |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | invasion of Normandy on June 6, and on September 8, 1944, he was |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | killed in action in Brittany; he was subsequently buried in a |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | cemetery in Rusk County; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Years later, fellow soldier Bill Welch, whose life |

| 16 | 17 | | was saved by Sergeant Burfeind during World War II, discovered that |

| 17 | 18 | | the sergeant's headstone inscription listed the wrong infantry |

| 18 | 19 | | division; with the assistance of the Burfeind family, he attempted |

| 19 | 20 | | to have it corrected, but ran into a number of roadblocks; in March |

| 20 | 21 | | 2015, Chuck and Michelle Wright took up the cause and were |

| 21 | 22 | | ultimately able to ensure that the sergeant was properly honored, |

| 22 | 23 | | restoring him to his rightful place in the 29th Infantry Division; |

|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, A veteran himself, Chuck Wright was a decorated |

| 25 | 26 | | helicopter pilot in the marine corps, and since leaving the |

| 26 | 27 | | military, he has continued to be a champion for servicemen and women |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | as the host of the program Alliance 4 the Brave on KVCE-AM radio, as |

| 28 | 29 | | a member of the Marine Corps League, and as a leader in the Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | chapter of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America; and |

| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Michelle Wright is active in raising the couple's |

| 31 | 32 | | two sons, Mason and Travis, and she has served as a Cub Scout leader |

| 32 | 33 | | and engaged in other civic activities; she has also devoted much |

| 33 | 34 | | time to researching the family's genealogy, tracing it back seven |

| 34 | 35 | | generations to one of Stephen F. Austin's original 300 settlers; |

| 39 | 40 | | Michelle Wright may indeed take great pride in this important |
