55 R E S O L U T I O N
66 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
77 passing of Albert Edward Baade Jr. of Tyler on April 6, 2014, at the
88 age of 87; and
99 WHEREAS, Albert Baade was born in Dallas on April 30, 1926, to
1010 Albert E. Baade Sr. and Jewell Bryant Baade; he served the United
1111 States Navy with distinction in the Pacific theater during World
1212 War II, earning two battle stars for his efforts, and after he
1313 returned home, he earned his bachelor's degree from Baylor
1414 University; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. Baade began his career in the oil industry as an
1616 oil scout, working with his uncle, W. T. Bryant; a respected member
1717 of the profession, he was a founding member of the East Texas
1818 Association of Petroleum Landmen and an original board member of
1919 the Tyler Petroleum Club; later, he was employed as the dean of
2020 continuing education at Tyler Junior College, where he helped to
2121 develop and organize a curriculum for the real estate and petroleum
2222 landman program; and
2323 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Baade enjoyed the love and
2424 support of his wife, Elizabeth, with whom he shared 64 years before
2525 her passing; he was also the proud father of a son, William, and as
2626 his extended family grew, he delighted in spending time with his
2727 grandchildren, Brandon, Carolyn, and Alexandra, and his
2828 great-grandchildren, Savannah and William; and
2929 WHEREAS, Although Albert Baade is deeply missed, memories of
3030 his good humor, his enthusiasm, and his quiet strength remain to
3131 comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
3232 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
3333 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Albert Edward Baade
3434 Jr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to his loved ones; and, be it
3535 further
3636 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3737 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3838 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Albert
3939 Baade.
