9 | 10 | | connects U.S. Highway 281 to the rapidly growing city of Reynosa, |

10 | 11 | | one of northern Mexico's major industrial cities, and it is |

11 | 12 | | crossed, on average, by 110,000-125,000 vehicles each month; and |

12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, With its strategic location in an area that features |
---|
13 | 14 | | extensive infrastructure and services as well as strong growth |
---|
14 | 15 | | potential, the bridge bolsters the economies of both Pharr and |
---|
15 | 16 | | Reynosa by improving the convenience of operations for importers, |
---|
16 | 17 | | exporters, and domestic and multinational manufacturing companies; |

18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge is |

19 | 20 | | recognized as the most-utilized commercial bridge in South Texas; |

21 | 22 | | increase of $2.17 billion or 7.63 percent over the previous year's |
