H.R. No. 2847
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The members of the McAllen Memorial High School
boys' golf team distinguished themselves by capturing the District
30-6A championship held April 6-7, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Matched up against other top squads at the Palm View
Golf Course in McAllen, the Mustangs demonstrated poise and skill,
shooting a two-day total of 647 to take first place and earn a spot
in the regional tournament; and
WHEREAS, Ably guided by head coach Celso Gonzales, the team
was led in scoring by Carlos Reyes, who shot 148 to win medalist
honors, and he was closely followed by Taylor Kucia, who shot 162;
other team members include Will Moore, Trevor Kucia, Trey Mikulik,
Ross Gonzales, Jake Hasler, Antonio Julia, Eli Ochoa, and Julian
Hinojosa; and
WHEREAS, With its fine showing at the District 30-6A
championship, the Mustang boys' golf team has added to the McAllen
Memorial High School tradition of athletic excellence, and the
students may take justifiable pride in their achievement; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the McAllen Memorial High School
boys' golf team on winning the District 30-6A championship and
extend to the team's players and coaches sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
