| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The Caller-Times/Citgo South Texas Distinguished |

| 9 | 10 | | Scholars program was established to reward local students who have |

| 10 | 11 | | demonstrated excellence in such areas as academics, athletics, |

| 11 | 12 | | leadership, and community service; since its inception in 1988, |

| 12 | 13 | | some 480 young men and women have been selected for this prestigious |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | honor, with the winners each receiving a stipend to assist with |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | college expenses; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Ronny and Novia Osburn, Ms. Osburn |

| 16 | 17 | | is a senior at Tuloso-Midway High School, where she maintains a |

| 17 | 18 | | 104.17 grade point average and ranks fourth in her class of 246 |

| 18 | 19 | | students; she is also a member of the school's Junior Engineering |

| 19 | 20 | | Technical Society team; after graduation, she plans to attend |

| 20 | 21 | | Trinity University and study pharmacology; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has pursued her goals |

| 22 | 23 | | with tremendous dedication, and she may take great pride in all that |
