H.R. No. 2850
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Students from Edinburg North High School won the
regional competition in the 2015 National Science Bowl competition;
and
WHEREAS, The ENHS team defeated talented competitors from
area high schools in a variety of science and math-based events;
participants in the regional tournament were Derek Garcia, Julian
Medrano, Andras Balough, Christopher Rios, Juan Garcia, and Javier
Garcia; and
WHEREAS, With this victory, the team now advances to the
National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., where it will proudly
represent Edinburg North High and the Lone Star State in one of the
nation's largest and most prestigious academic competitions; and
WHEREAS, These fine young Texans have distinguished
themselves through their hard work and commitment to excellence,
and they are a source of pride to their school and community; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Edinburg North High School
science team on claiming first place in the 2015 National Science
Bowl regional competition and extend to its members sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
