| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of Mozelle Jordan Blair of Dallas on May 3, 2015, at the age |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mozelle Blair was born in Ennis on April 3, 1925, to |

| 9 | 10 | | Felix and Etta Jordan; she attended Dallas Independent School |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | District schools during her childhood, and she was a popular |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | student at Booker T. Washington High; she married her high school |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | sweetheart, William Blair, and the couple were blessed with seven |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | children, William, Jordan, Debra, Michelle, Robert, Terri, and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Darryl, as well as 36 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Blair operated a successful catering company |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | with the help of her family for many years, earning loyal customers |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | across the Metroplex and passing on valuable lessons of |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | entrepreneurship to her children; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A woman of deep faith, she was a longtime congregant |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, and she proudly |

| 21 | 22 | | served as "Mother of the Church" at Color Blind/Anointed Ministries |

| 22 | 23 | | in Como; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, While the death of Mozelle Blair brings great |

| 24 | 25 | | sadness to her loved ones, she leaves behind a legacy that will long |

| 25 | 26 | | be treasured by all those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Mozelle Blair and |

| 28 | 29 | | extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her |

| 29 | 30 | | children, Debra Abron and her husband, Vernon, Michelle Gilstrap |

| 30 | 31 | | and her husband, Paul, Robert Blair, Terri Lynch, and Darryl Blair |
