H.R. No. 2861 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Ryan Butler is graduating as the salutatorian of the senior class of W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi in 2015; and WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the highest academic standards; Mr. Butler has demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, with his favorites being mathematics, science, music, history, and English; in addition, he participated in numerous extracurricular activities, including robotics, piano, and UIL competitions; and WHEREAS, The son of Richard Butler and Mara Schechter Butler, Mr. Butler plans to continue his education by enrolling at Cornell University to study electrical and computer engineering; and WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Ryan Butler has earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and classmates, and his exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Ryan Butler, salutatorian of the Class of 2015 at W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Butler as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
