H.R. No. 2863
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Nathan Strong and Carlee Sweeten of Leggett High
School have earned well-deserved recognition by qualifying to
compete at the 2015 University Interscholastic League Academic
State Meet; and
WHEREAS, In order to qualify, the pair turned in outstanding
performances at the regional event; there, Ms. Sweeten captured the
regional championship in literary criticism and Mr. Strong placed
fifth in informative speaking; and
WHEREAS, Through their participation in UIL academics, these
talented young Texans have demonstrated great initiative and
ability, and they each may indeed look forward to a future bright
with promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Nathan Strong and Carlee Sweeten on
qualifying for the UIL Academic State Meet and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued success.
