R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lucero Escutia is graduating as the salutatorian of
the senior class of West Oso High School in Corpus Christi in 2015;
and
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
highest academic standards; Ms. Escutia has demonstrated a
thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, with her
favorites being music, physical education, science, and athletic
training; in addition, she participated in numerous
extracurricular activities, including band, tennis, and culture
club; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Joe and Guadalupe Escutia,
Ms. Escutia plans to continue her education by enrolling at Texas
A&M University to study oncology; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Lucero Escutia has
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates,
and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment
to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for
this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Lucero Escutia, salutatorian of
the Class of 2015 at West Oso High School in Corpus Christi, and
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she
begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Escutia as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
