 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Nick Centonze has been named a 2014 Corpus Christi
 Caller-Times/Citgo South Texas Distinguished Scholar in
 recognition of his achievements in the Communications category; and
 WHEREAS, The Caller-Times/Citgo South Texas Distinguished
 Scholars program was established to reward local students who have
 demonstrated excellence in such areas as academics, athletics,
 leadership, and community service; since its inception in 1988,
 some 480 young men and women have been selected for this prestigious
 honor, with the winners each receiving a stipend to assist with
 college expenses; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Terri and Sergio Martinez, Mr. Centonze
 maintains a 3.57 grade point average at Calallen High School; his
 outstanding leadership as photo editor of both the school newspaper
 and the yearbook has earned him the Award of Achievement from the
 University Interscholastic League, and he has also won two UIL
 state journalism awards for his photographs; after graduating, he
 plans to study pre-law at Texas State University; and
 WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has pursued his goals
 with tremendous dedication, and he may take great pride in all that
 he has accomplished as he looks ahead to a future bright with
 promise; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Nick Centonze on his selection as a
 2014 Corpus Christi Caller-Times/Citgo South Texas Distinguished
 Scholar and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
 success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Centonze as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
