R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Raegan Padgett, a member of the Hardin-Jefferson
High School girls' track team, has been named a Wendy's 12Star
Athlete of the Week by KBMT-TV; and
WHEREAS, A gifted runner for the Lady Hawks, Ms. Padgett
earned this notable honor for her outstanding performance during
the Region 3-4A Track Meet in May 2015; she competed as a member of
the 4 x 200-meter and 4 x 100-meter relay squads, helping the teams
to capture first- and second-place medals at the event; moreover,
she finished as the runner-up in the 200-meter dash, leading HJHS to
the regional title and securing a spot at the University
Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet; and
WHEREAS, This multitalented young Texan was also a standout
on the Hardin-Jefferson girls' soccer team that advanced to the UIL
4A regional championship game; and
WHEREAS, With her exceptional achievements, Raegan Padgett
has become a source of pride for her school and community, and she
is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Raegan Padgett on her selection as
a Wendy's 12Star Athlete of the Week and extend to her sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Padgett as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
