 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, James Benjamin Rogers is retiring in May 2015 after
 an outstanding tenure as director of the W. R. Poage Legislative
 Library at Baylor University; and
 WHEREAS, Ben Rogers joined the Baylor University staff in
 1990, taking a position at the Poage Library the following year; he
 has overseen the renovation of the library's exhibit gallery, the
 construction of the Hightower Book Vault, and the addition of the
 second floor processing area; moreover, he helped establish the
 Jack Hightower Book Endowment as well as the Dowdy Research Grant,
 Student Intern, and Archival Supply endowments; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Rogers also played a key role in the creation of
 numerous political collections dedicated to national and state
 legislators and judges; after lieutenant governor Bob Bullock
 donated his records to the university in 1993, Mr. Rogers worked
 tirelessly to transfer and organize the documents into the Bob
 Bullock Archive, which opened in 2004; and
 WHEREAS, In addition to the quarter-century he devoted to the
 Poage Library, this esteemed Texan has been employed as an
 archivist for the Texas Baptist Historical Collection, and he has
 served both the U.S. Army Security Agency and the National Security
 Agency; he holds a bachelor's degree in history from the College of
 Charleston, a master's degree in information science from the
 University of North Texas, and further master's degrees in divinity
 and church music from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary; and
 WHEREAS, Through his dedication, professionalism, and
 prudent handling of library funds, Ben Rogers has made innumerable
 contributions to Baylor and the Poage Library, and he may indeed
 reflect with pride on his exceptional career achievements; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Ben Rogers on his retirement as
 director of the W. R. Poage Legislative Library at Baylor
 University and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Rogers as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
