 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Members of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of
 America at Silsbee High School distinguished themselves with their
 performance at the State Leadership Conference, held in Corpus
 Christi April 9-11, 2015; and
 WHEREAS, The Silsbee students were led by Clayton Talley, who
 placed first in the Teach and Train STAR category to secure a trip
 to the FCCLA National Meeting in Washington, D.C.; also competing
 for Silsbee at the event were Kaitlyn Guidry, who placed fourth in
 the National Programs in Action event, Kara Russ, who placed fourth
 in the Early Childhood category, and Emily Humphrey and Jerry
 Paine, who placed sixth in the Life Event Planning contest; in
 addition, Brooke Harvey won a $1,000 scholarship, and Kendall Stone
 was elected FCCLA state president; assisting with various aspects
 of the conference were Brooke Harvey, Kennedi Gilder, Ali Day, and
 Carli Cooper; these talented young Texans have received essential
 guidance throughout the year from sponsors Diane Parks and Donna
 Shannon, who was recognized with a mentor teacher award; and
 WHEREAS, With their efforts at the State Leadership
 Conference, these Silsbee FCCLA members proudly represented their
 school, and the dedication they have demonstrated is sure to serve
 them well in the years ahead; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Silsbee FCCLA participants in
 the State Leadership Conference on their efforts and extend to them
 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the Silsbee FCCLA as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
