| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may help |

| 6 | 7 | | comfort the loved ones of Mary Lou Roberts of Amarillo who passed |

| 7 | 8 | | away on April 7, 2015, at the age of 69; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mary Lou Roberts was born in Austin on May 27, 1945, |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | and she moved to Amarillo with her forever family, Charles and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Evelyn Ivers, when she was just three days old; she graduated from |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | St. Mary's Cathedral School and went on to earn a degree as a |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | registered nurse from Northwest Texas Hospital; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Roberts began her vocation in 1963 at |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | St. Anthony's Hospital, where she worked for 19 years before |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | leaving to teach at Amarillo College in the surgical technician |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | program; she spent the last 25 years of her career at Northwest |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Texas Hospital, from which she retired in June 2014; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, In addition to her accomplishments as a nurse, |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | teacher, and mentor, Ms. Roberts was the proud mother of two sons, |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Tim and Greg, and she also enjoyed the love and affection of seven |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Mary Lou |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Roberts will remember the way she touched their lives with her |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | kindness and compassion, and she will forever hold a treasured |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mary Lou Roberts and |
